MTV Base Africa | Channel Rebrand
African Kaleidoscope
MTV Base has been in Africa for some time, and until now, has used an international identity to relate to their viewers. This rebrand aimed for the channel to shift, and express itself through a more local and contemporary Afro-visual approach.
The direction came from the notion that Africans need to tell their own stories, in their own way. To ensure flexibility and inclusiveness, vibrant patterns from different regions were designed to represent the different African cultures.
Along with the patterns are portrait photographs highlighting various cultures found across Africa to present the everyday African to the viewer.
